Family Connections

Advisor Relationship
.

In high school, students should become increasingly independent and capable of managing most of life's demands. Often, this leads to greater distance between families and schools. It's unfortunate when connections are made only when things go off the rails.

At HATCH, advisors are charged with building relationships with the families of their advisees independent of problems which might arise. School and home fronts work together towards the shared goal of guiding students into their best future selves.

HATCH Community Association

Family members have the opportunity to contribute to the life of the school through the HATCH Community Association. This group is charged with encouraging connections among families through community-building events and activities.

Furthermore, as a new, small school, The Hatch School will rely on families' active support to nurture its growth from startup through maturity. The HATCH Community Association coordinates that support.

Raising Adolescents in Community

Raising a teen is no small task. High school marks a major transition in parenting, and preparing your child for independent living is daunting, emotional, and deeply rewarding.

We know that supporting families is an important part of supporting students. The Hatch School provides resources, connection, and shared celebration for families in the throes of the teenage years. Adults, like kids, learn best when supported and challenged by a caring community, and we're glad to make such a community at HATCH.
